did you catch this instantly?

a guy on a different website posted pictures of the result of pushing a FORD block, and rotating assembly past its strength limits,
STRESS IS CUMULATIVE AND NO HIGHLY STRESSED COMPONENT WILL LAST INDEFINITELY
P12CHARTS.jpg

(even the best parts can be pushed past strength limits)
he admits it was done with 28 psi of BOOST and some rather serious RPMS, while making in excess of 1100 hp, while pushing the engine too what was rather obviously a rod failure, with manely aftermarket connecting rods, now a close look at the rod bearing condition and the fact the ARP 2000 rod bolts seem to have held the stress just fine and what appears to be a bit of piston wrist pin damage , and I think the connecting rods held up to enormous stress, they just might not have been ideal for that particular application, the fact is the bearings and rod bolts condition,
seems to indicate the rods were just not up to the pressures and rpms they were subjected too!

but did you catch this??
it jumped out at me, and had me do a double take!
like a cute naked brunette, walking toward me on a beach!
NO ITS NOT A #9,
(like my 10 year old grandson suggested)
theres not 9 cylinders in a ford V8,
and remember the rods pictured facing down not up into the block like it would be when it was numbered

I looked through several MANELY adds and the highest rated rods were rated at 750HP
you may find this info useful, on CRANK SHAFT STRENGTH

There are HP Ratings on connecting rods for a Reason Grumpy.
I like I Beam Rods like Crower.

With Ed Now.
Working On that Audi V10 Super Car.
Twin Turbo install.

After reading his posts the engine was pushed past the limit many times I'm sure something failed but abuse isn't good for a long life but it lasted a long time. The last time I saw something like that my buddy's Hemi Cuda going almost through the end of the 1/4 mile it wasn't pretty in his case the cam let go but the results were similar

Good catch on the number!!

I thought these Manley rods were factory Ford installed??

Thanks
Randy
