but before diving head first into a dash replacement...
by far the most comon cause of that problem Ive found is the three ground wires might be loose, or the connector ends coroaded on the bolt grounding them on the rear of the drivers side cylinder head.
now that is not the only concern but its been remarkably comon as a source for flickering or just plain non-working dash gauges and lights, and yes you need all three wires firmly connected
