You guys ever wacth that?

I caught an episode yesterday. They bought a 1955 F-100 Ford pick-up for $1750... just body, frame and glass, no engine, nicely trashed - just no real rust... fully restored it for $4100 and auctioned it off "at a small profit" for $6100.

WTF? It seems like every episode is like that. A decent paint job is at least $1500. What about all these man hours? Body work... upholstery, oak flatbed, new grill, new bumper, seals, trim... I just don't see that happening.

And $6100 for a good 1955 F-100? They never popped open the hood. The engine was a yard scavenge...

Hmmm

Lololol - no comments? Things must be significantly cheaper over there... 6k for that 1955 F-100 would be a steal here...

the condition the cars in and what parts come with it effects about 90% of the price but if you keep looking with a decent bank balance , theres always some guy who lost his job or is forced to move with his new job, or some guys who is getting a divorce thats willing to dump a 1/2 finished project car at bargain prices for cash.
Ive been offered several corvettes , over the last 5 years at true bargain prices but cash has been extremely tight so I could not jump on several great deals

I just don't see how these guys restoring for 6100, bought at 1750 a hulk... can make a buck off of this.

it is still television
so they show only the interesting thing
and they "trick"some scenes also
i think

restoring a hulk for 4100 seems impossible! And I am sure there are no man hours included...
