one of my friends busted his old engine combo in his 1965 chevelle and he was looking at an expense he could just not justify under his current income to replace the cars rather expensive sbc combo, he thought about getting a salvage yard engine just to have something to drive , but he was not all that thrilled with the idea of replacing his busted 400hp small block with a 150hp smogger v8, and about 80% of his old parts were not salvageable......hes discussing this with his uncle ....who asked him if hes open to an engine swap? anyway, his uncles neighbor has a 1970 caddy rear wheel drive with a 472-500 caddy engine, the cars basically a rolling rust bucket but it runs fine..............so for $150 he owned a really rusted caddy with a good drive train, hes currently swapping the caddy drive train into the chevelle.......and it looks like its going to be a really nice swap once hes done!

Ive always loved the fact that some guys don,t build cookie cutter duplicate cars, I mean how many mustangs and camaros do you see vs the Pontiacs, caddy's, Plymouth, Buicks etc. ITS nice to see some one do something different....especially fun when they kick butt on the many mustangs and camaros
one of my friends in high school had a 1933 Buick with a 413 mopar wedge
another guy had a 1955 chevy with a 392 hemi
and one guy had a flip front end solid front axle 64 falcon with a 440 dodge engine
cars like those are both interesting and rather unique

IVE got a neighbor who owns a low mileage 1970 t-bird with a running big block ford and a 1984 vette with a blown up transmission and an engine thats got over 179K that smokes......hes been talking about doing a transplant into the vette for several years, while hes hinting I should get envolved, ......yeah, I be glad too! but we will see, I work for next to nothing but IM not about to start suppling parts at my cost to do his swap, or go running around looking for parts for free , if hes not willing to get committed to working on the swap.
