I tried the canton aluminum valve covers and they were too tall to fit in a Corvette. I found carbon fiber valve covers that look real sweet and clear the rockers. Pics are on my build post.

the reason that tall valve covers don,t work on the STOCK LT1, is simply that the STOCK alternator bracket height restricts, what will fit under it,so your limitations are no longer there once you fabricate a bracket that will allow a 2" taller valve cover to fit under the bracket.
if you decide you need roller rockers as an example and decide you want taller valve covers on your LT1 corvette, don,t give up when you find that the tall valve covers your lusting after won,t fit under a bracket.
I,ve always been amazed at the number of guys that run into some minor fabrication clearance issue like this that has them, stopped cold.
frankly, Ive always assumed thats why you buy a welder ,work bench and a drill press, and why I bought a MILL, in this hobby and why you buy tools, so you can fabricate custom brackets, and assemble and custom fit components as required. ETC.
BTW theres dozens of these issues in most builds and you make choices, if your thinking "why is there no one making custom tall clearance brackets, Its probably the limited market , keeps that a limited custom option, and because roller rockers fit under the stock valve covers once the drippers are milled out , and if you research a bit youll find most machine sops will be thrilled to build custom brackets at a cost you may find is to high for the average guy to easily justify.

THERES A HUGE SELECTION of custom made brackets and suppliers only too happy to supply accessory brackets that allow you to move the bracket or alternator so thats no longer an issue
