keep in mind that if your hunting game in most areas you'll seldom have shots at game in the field,
at ranges over about 250 yards , now there are areas where you may get a chance at far longer ranges.
your rifle cartridge and projectile choice will be far more important, high ballistic coefficient , low drag bullets try to find one thats at least a .450 and .500 above is better, pushed at higher velocity's helps reduce your problems hitting a distant target
this is where the heavy for caliber 30-338 caliber bullets with a sectional density over .260 tend to provide a big advantage
