Hi. My car-(73 elco 383sbc with holley steath ram , bbk thrtlebody, accel gen 7 dfi, msd 6a, etc.) is throwing me for a loop again. I can start it up and drive for exactly 1 mile and it stumbles, surges, and wants to die. I mean exactly one mile too. At the same point /distance from my home. Then ill park it, wait about 15 min, start it up and drive home. Right when i get to my driveway itll start doing it again. Wash rinse repeat. Its fouling plugs really quickly too. I have good fuel, good fuel pressure, ignition timing ok, fuel filter ok, air/fuel mix is 14.5ish) , IAC valve is good-
Im hoping its not the ECU. Its just wierd how it goes for a mile then gets wonky. Any ideas?

first, I'd try timing the drive time to failure not just distance,
to get some idea as to the time, not the distance,
and then let the car/truck idle and with you in the drivers seat occasionally giving it a bit of throttle to raise rpms ,
just too see if it exibit's the same issue at about the same time frame sitting in your driveway,
it may be a heat build-up electronic issue
hei and similar ignitions do frequently have a issue with failing due to increased heat,
obviously pull trouble codes if you can do that on the accel gen 7 dfi, msd 6a

obviously verify if its getting ignition spark and use a noid light to test injector pulse if its quit,

youll need a MULTI METER AND A FUEL PRESSURE TEST GAUGE

you need to isolate the problem to ignition or fuel delivery issues
