Engine Assembly Lighting Project

I wanted plenty of light for those critical measurements and observations while do pre-assembly/final assembly checks. I decided on a T5 High Output light 46.25" long. This ONE light puts out 5000 lumens. They are also very small with a end dimension of only 7/8" x 1.75", this would fit underneath the shelf above my work surface without being in the way. They just snap in to the brackets, you could actually move it around if you wanted. They are a little expensive, but was the only fluorescent light that would fit this application. Cost was about $100.

that looks like you did a great job!

as we get older, adding that extra lighting becomes far more helpful.
that looks like money well spent that youll only appreciate more as time goes bye.

I fully appreciate how important having near day light in the shop is, I installed 21 quad high intensity 4 ft fixtures on the 16 ft tall rafters spaced every 10 ft apart then added 8 dual motion sensor lights
mounted at 12 ft to provide side angle lighting, plus Ive got a few portable shop lamps

I don,t know why but the picture seems to show the area far darker than it is.

That side lighting sounds like darn good idea, should help with the shadows that always seem to be right where you need to see.

You can't see light until it reflects off of something. If you don't have a white ceiling, then that would help a great deal. But you already new that I'm sure and probably have one now.

BTW, I would have answered last night, but thought I had better watch TV with the wife. She doesn't get to see me that much any more, since I'm always in the garage. Sure enough she said something about it was nice to just have me around last night. Once in awhile I make the right decision....miracles do happen!!!
