engine masters

John Kasse has dominated the Engine Masters challange for years. The new Boss 429 stoked to 500+ cubes is Killer.
John won 1 year with a True Poncho Pontiac Engine.

Ive watched the results with interest every year, and its rather obvious that this is basically a contest to se who can produce the best power in the hopes of greatly increasing bussiness traffic thru the shops front door, so these guys throw a TON of MONEY and EFFORT and MACHINE WORK into these engines as an advertizing tool. I doubt 90% of the customers can afford these SHOW PIECE ENGINE PLATFORMS and MOST would be SHOCKED at the COSTS
Ive got a good deal of respect for John Kasse and his new clone version of the Boss 429 stoked to 500+ cubes, but Id bet that engine costs WELL north of $30K if you want one built

There was One Jegs Engine Master contest where a Homebuilt 415 ci SBC WON.
Heads ported at home. Within last 5-7 years.
Don't think Kasse competed that year or had issues. I think that year no Cleveland based engines allowed.
Little guy took home the $ 200,000 paycheck.
I have dreamed of competing.
At least place in Top 20.

Ive looked at the costs involved and I can,t imagine competing unless i had a shop I was trying to promote and could write it all off as a business expense, but yes I looks like a fun deal if money was no object
