Fusible link... or...

Id suggest reset-able circuit breaker, do it correctly, its more work, and a bit more expensive up front, but youll be far happier in the long run doing it that way

Yes, I figured I'd go that way so I bought a 140 Amp circuit breaker. I just seems cleaner, safer and more consistent.

Presumably between Alt and leading to batt and main junction?

AND/OR ANYWHERE ELSE YOU THINK IT MIGHT BE WISE TO LIMIT THE POTENTIAL FOR A POTENTIAL OVERLOAD ON THE CIRCUITS, I generally try to use a bit heavier gauge wire that the minimum the circuit may require and fuse the circuit so the components protected from damage but ideally at a level high enough that youll seldom need to reset breakers or replace fuses, and never need to worry about wires over heating or fires

fusible link, no switching contacts just direct connection ;).
I never seen a fusible link get defectuous :D.
