Glock Pistol

Ive carried a glock 10mm mod 20 for several (3) decades
they are not as accurate as my SMITH & WESSON 1006, OR EAA WITNESS 45 acp
glock groups are about 3" at 25 yards, both the others shoot closer to 2" groups
the glock 20 pistols are marginally lighter and marginally more dependable,
and certainly both of those other pistols have slightly, less mag capacity,
than the glock 20, 15 cartridge , higher magazine capacity,
and the glock 20 requires less periodic maintenance.
I can purchase glock mags for about $20, the other pistol mags run,
$34 for EAA and $80 each for the S&W both hold 9 cartridges
all are certainly up to the job, but theres certainly far more holsters
for glocks available, if I have to use a pistol for self defense,
chances are excellent ranges will be under 20 ft, not yards

I really don't like Glocks for more than 1 reason, but they are dependable.

yes, and while I agree Id generally prefer the S&W 1006 ,
its got better sights and its more accurate.
but I can,t find extra magazines and comfortable,
inside the waist band holsters at a decent price.

I am going to build a Glock 17 mod 3 in the near future. Not as cheap to do as an AR15 or Ak47.

S&W may sell the 10mm magazines but wont be cheap , but how many do you need? Security and confidence in your weapon of choice plus ability to use it is better than not being prepared. Hard to get comfortable with anything hanging on to you in all movements of a day.

I stopped carrying a 1911 and started carrying 9mm with 17+1 shots plus 2 extra magazines. Not much difference in size, but a lot more ammo to put on target or down range to escape and evade since I don't maneuver like I use to. Also carry a Ruger 380 in an ankle holster and 1 extra magazine. My Astra A100 came with 2 magazines and Astra was out of business when purchased. That is probably why it was so cheap. Last A100 17 round magazine cost me $100.00 at a gun show and haven't found any since. Can find the 10 round magazines all day long, mostly repops.

I have many semi autos in various calibers plus some wheel guns in various calibers and pocket derringers all with holsters and magazines and speed loaders. 50 caliber down to 22 as well as rifles in semi auto and single shot and bolt action . Long range I have a (Kate) Just can't carry them all at same time.

I like my Glock M&P 17 9mm, I also have a Beretta M51 9mm. I know I might get some flack for this but the Beretta just feels heavy on my hip. Plus it has to be clean or it will jam. My Glock keeps the group together after 2 magazines 35rnds. The Berretta jams like clock work at round 11. Plus I don't like single stacks. It is very accurate up to 10rnds, So in reality I guess only 2 shots really matter maybe 3 shots. But I would rather have the Beretta than not have one.

I carry a glock mod 20 (10mm)in a inside the waist band holster you don,t even feel it
yes it requires use of suspenders

I am looking at the M&P Shield now. They are offering a good deal at $199.00 after mail in rebate. The only issue I have is that money would be better spent on my Trans Am. Lol. Ive got enough fire power but I am like a kid in a candy store when it comes to my guns.

You can NEVER have too many guns or hot rods. Investment for hard times if nothing else.

81T/A make sure you get the 2.0 version it has a lot better trigger
2.0? Ill have to check it out. Didnt know there was such. Ill google it and get back with you. The indoor firing range near me allows me to rent the gun first. If I buy it they dont charge for the rental. Just the time and ammo.

The 2.0 is the updated version with or without a thumb safety. I think the 2.0 is a much better weapon you can also get one with a factory laser I got that on mine with safety I only had the chance to shoot mine once but was impressed with it. Far from the best but I would say for in the price range it would be hard to find any better
