Guess what car this dash is from

Which of the Olds 425’s do you have to look for? Years? Are they from certain cars? If any parts are missing, which are difficult to find or replace?

They are all good Richard.
1965-1967.
The Oldsmobile Torando 1966-67 were most powerfull.
385 Hp.
May have been a 400 Hp version.

The 425 I transplanted into my 63 Pontiac Gp. Is from a 1965 Olds Delta 98. 360Hp & 470 Ft/LBS rated.

There were also 2bbl versions of the 425.
Reported to run good strong also.

Mine was missing the Flexplate, Carburator, and water pump and all accesories.
Flexplate I took from a 1965 Olds 330 V8.
Same as 425 & 400. Different bolt pattern than 1968 and up years.

Water pump is different. 1965-67.
Just about unobtainable.
I took all accessories brackets and pullies off a 403 engine I have.
Mounted up with minor grinding to clear.

There are a few Oldsmobile groups on Facebook I am in.
Old Timers there know how good the 425s are.
Many are Racers.
The 425 crankshaft is Forged steel.
Guys using in 1500 Hp Turbo builds.
Using 350 Olds Diesel blocks.
Too expensive for me.

Just has been the Best Budget Hotrod engine for me.
Does what a pump gas Pontiac 455 can do for at least 1/3 less money.

Not True Drag Race today but it sure is Fun driving.

The Buick 425 and 455 engines are good too.
Had a friend that was into BUICK.
Torque monster I recall.
He would wind them up like a Race Small Block Chevy.
Eventually blow a 455. All stock.
Go out and buy another for $50.
Drop another into his Skylark 1970.
Shame now.
At least 12 Buick 455s wasted.

See a market.
Not everyone wants LS.

Stashing all Small Block Chevies, Big Block Chevies, Pontiacs, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac 472-500.
Some Ford's & Molars be good.
I need more room.
Building.
At least a 2 car garage.
