Hard Time With Efi

I know this is a rookie question, but cut me some slack please...
This is my first go-around with EFI.....
I have a 383 sbc with a Holley stealthram/ Accel DFI gen 7 setup on it. I have no calmap cable to connect my ECU to my laptop to tune it. Accel doesn't make em/ offers no tech support for gen 7 any longer....period. I cant make any changes without the laptop interface. I'm going to switch to a FAST ez-efi retro-fit self learning kit in a couple months.
IN THE MEANTIME....
How can I adjust the throttle to be less aggressive? If if even breathe on the gas pedal I pull a hole-shot and bark the tires. It's almost undrivable like this....

There is nothing you can do.
You can not get in to EFI Tune.
Hard to believe ACCEL no longer supports your EFI.
Have you called a local Tuner with a Chassis Dyno?
Have race groups on FB...find and contact right guy maybe.

There is a group called Mighty Car Mods.
I am on it.
Old timer there me.
Most younger and they like me.
I know old school stuff.
Might find help there with no access in to ACCEL DFI 7.

From what I've heard, Accel came out with gen 7 right before "self learning" setups hit the market. Noone was interested in it anymore, so they just kinda dropped it?
I got a screaming deal on this motor because of the cable being gone. Hopefully the Fast ez efi retro fit kit is an easy upgrade to install ....

Also- I did call local tuner/dyno shop and asked if they could tune it and they had a 5 hour minimum to even look at it. At $150 per hour, it's just as expensive to upgrade to self learning....

They usually charge $500-750 for a Premium tune on a Chassis Dyno here in Illinois.
Chicago area.
I worked at a race shop in the past.
I built engines. All other driveline repairs.
Mustang AWD chassis dyno.
I did not EFI tune.
I was watching them tune only 30 feet away working.
I recall ACCEL DFI 7. It was a good system.

Things change so fast.
Street Outlaws No Prep shaping all hotrod now and parts used to race.

I know.... I've always stayed simple old school as possible with my cars, but when this deal came up, I couldn't pass on it. I really like the idea of a self tuning setup. IF it can be consistent, and somewhat user friendly.......maybe asking too much....well see

What I found on ebay this morning.
New unopened ACCEL DFI Gen 7 wiring harness. Not sure if the Cal Map Cable is in it or not.

Are You sure it's not a simple USB cable like you buy at Wally World or the Gas Station ?

I got your PM.
We live really close by one another here in Illinois.
We have to get together.
I love Street Racing like you.
Lots of cars around sitting.
Hard times from Past POTUS BAM.
I HATE HIM.
I VOTED FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP.

Take you for a ride in the Trans Am when I get it back together.
It's really fast.

Got a war going on in Corvette world.
Sissies will not meet.
Talk tough to me.
Guns are Welcome Ok. We shoot here 1st.

I left Illinois some years ago. Im in California now. I live right next to Infinion raceway(Sears Point dragstrip) in Vallejo. I tell you one thing- California may have more fancy cars on the road, and some famous cruise nights, but doesnt even compare to Illinois street racing (from what Ive seen anyway...)

I have an old friend from Corvette Forum I have not talked to in a long time, my age at 49.
He is in Los Angelous.
He was Street Racing in his 1970-1/2 Camaro. Got busted . His Race Car impounded. Went to get his car after posting Bail money and they stole his Camaro.
Inside job 5.0.

The multi port retro fit will do you right. Start a thread on it. If you get stuck post up details there and you will have all the help you could ask for. The user interfacing has improved tremendously and FAST 2.0 truly is EASY EFI. No laptop needed! It is a hefty price. And you will enjoy every minute of your hot rod running with it. The handheld controller is always there. A color touchscreen. To give you a full pid list. monitor fuel pressure boost everything right from the there.
