No Nitrous.
No Super charger.
No Turbocharging.
NHRA Super Stock Racer from 1997.
400Ci Pontiac V8.
SMOG Era 1975-1979 Pontiac 6X heads. No porting allowed. After winning the engine is torn down by NHRA officials complete down to bare block and all measured checked.
Its Legit.

1970 Ram Air 4's 614 heads I have flow much more than 6X heads.

BR

Whatcha Thinking Phil ?
I wasnt Fucken Bullshitting you.

I would not worry about your LS 4.8 Heads too much.
Valvejob done right & accurate work most important.
3-angle.
Big boost I would use premium FERREA Stainless Valves. 6000 Series.

painting a vrod for a friend of mine family all drag racers brother raced pro for a bit. We were discussing how now everyone is building crazy horse and spending the money on electronics to slow it down for consistant numbers. Nothing beats a car just built right.

Super Stock Drag Racing is so neat John.
Factory Block must be used.
Factory Cast Iron heads unported.
Factory Intake unported in most classes.
Factory Crankshaft used.
.PONTIAC V8 SHINES HERE.
OLDS V8 IN PAST ALSO.

that shit may have a legal bore and stroke, and stock heads, but theres more to the puzzle than that... expert blueprinting and cam selection and tuning to get that kind of power out a "stock" ish engine.... i dont believe that you pul a 400 out of a second gen, drop it in a third gen, and run tens... theres ALOT of tricks being pulled out in that combo to make the power where they need it...

also helps to have a full on race car too

That's the Beauty of a Pontiac V8.
Few tricks are required and not exotic. Blueprinting.
The 455 is the ultimate weapon factory stock just very hard to find today.
Been there. Done it.
Will do again in 2015.

Turbo charging , EFI, Custom headers, sheetmetal intake will eat up $7-10k alone easy.

Not needed if you have 3 455 Good engine cores to build as I do to beat Hellcats & Dodge SRT VIPER T/A .
The Hellcats, SRT VIPER, FERRARI , LAMBORGHINI , PORSCHE, BUGATTI ARE ALL FACTORY RACE CARS PUT ON THE STREET.
WHY BUILD ANYTHING LESS ?

that new viper runs elevens with a pro driver and a hundred practice passes... im not scared and you shouldnt be either. you have the foundations for a real fast car. forget those big money quiche eaters.
