Heating timing chain?

I am ready now to install and index my cam, finally. I have read somewhere, maybe here but couldnt relocate it. That it helps to put the timing chain in oil and marvel mystery oil mixed together and heat it all up in a pan. That would secure the oil to the inside of the chain. Can you add any advice on this? Thanks Dusty

its just a time proven method of insuring all the metal surfaces are bathed in hot oil that will seep into all the micro surface irregularities and form a protective film before the engine reaches operational temperatures and before there significant oil flow thru the engine, insuring a slightly improve lubrication during that first critical engine start-up process, its not mandatory, but every thing you can do to reduce wear helps

Thanks for helping me understand the purpose of it. Makes sense to me. I will heat the chain up tomorrow I got all the rings put on and pistons installed this past weekend, it takes 25-26 lbs of torqe to start rotating the assembly.
