HEI vs. Ignition box

Looking for some advice. With all the choices out there for ignition systems, what do you really need for a solid street 383? My gut tells me that a brand name HEI would be more that sufficient for an engine that will rarely see 6000 RPM. On the other hand, ignition boxes with all the additional features like multiple spark, higher power, rev limiter and programmable advance seems cool, but is it practical?

Personally, id use an accell or msd ignition. nothing wrong with HEI, but a stronger spark is better and at 6k rpm the HEI is on its limit.
