New to the site, long time follower. The 56 I bought took two years to build. It started out as a cruiser, then to a NA street car. Old school like dad had. The 283 form a 57 nomad I had in it was fun but just not that fun. The 383 I built is a great engine but more street car and it has done well at the local 1/8 mile, but now its getting a makeover. Anyway just saying hello from Arizona. 56 chevy the joker.jpg

its amazing how few of the 1955-1965 cars are still driven on the streets CONGRATS
the last 1957 chevy I worked on we installed a 454 BBC and a TH400 ,it was a P.I.T.A. finding headers and the correct motor and the correct transmission mounts etc even back in about 1996

yes parts are available

Thanks. I really love the information available on this site. Have been around Chevrolet cars my entire life. Dad has had 96 of them since he was 14, he now has his retirement ride in a 41 coupe with a 496 in it. My 56 is alot of fun to drive up until I put the 9 inch in it with the low gears, well its still fun who am I kidding. But its the play toy and it will see more strip time than street in the near future with the new 383 and TH400. I'm here to learn as much as I can. I have a second car but its the trailer queen that I cam home from the hospital in the back set of in 1970. it stays stock as its a numbers matching car. Thanks for the welcome. chevelle.jpg
