Hi, my name is Danny but ppl call me Soda. I've been a long time hot rodder and am 51 yrs old. I've got quite a bit of experience but mostly in OEM vehicles. My fab skills are for sh^# to be honest but it doesn't seem to stop me from trying.
I am currently building (hopefully be dont by the time good weather gets here) a 1965 Chevy C10 stepside. It has a SBC, 355 (forged everything), 8.5:1 Cr, Twin 63mm turbos, 3' downpipes (dumping right behind the front runners), an air to air intercooler, G1 Trickflow Twisted Wedge heads, hyd. roller cam, Torker 2 intake, Holley sniper Xflow 1375, Holley Hyperspark ign, bump box, line lock etc. TH-400 w/ reverse manual valve body, & trans brake, trucks been back halved with ladder bars, Narrowed Dana 60, 35 spline gun drilled axles, spool, 4.56 gear. Slicks 15x15x30's, coilovers front and back, double adjustable strange engineering rear shocks, skinny front runners. Its got a bit to go yet as we all know how builds go but, It is making progress. I just put the pan back in it to have my oil return fittings in the right location. The truck is going to make north of 750Hp. I want/would like a rack and pinion in it yet and a water to air intercooler w/ ice box. I have just re-painted the engine bay while I was in there doing stuff to look nice again. The headlights/tail lights & turn signals all work with the new wiring harness. It is street legal for the most part but on the edge to be honest.
I am having the 8.50 cage built very soon when I get the interior all laid out with the electronics I am using but with work being like it is (arbor aka tree trimmer) the 40+ work hours take a lot of build time for me but, you need to work to build. I haven't seemed to figure out a balance on that one yet but it is what it is I guess. I just wanna lay down a good time at the track, get some tuning data for different conditions and have a good time before I get too old to have fun. I know others have been quite old still racing but you never know when the last day will arrive so I gotta do what I can when I can lol. here is what I am working with. It isn't much but it is the best I've got and I am trying to make it fast and as fast as I can in the 1/4 mile.
I can honestly say I have never spent this much money in one shot as I did when ordering parts for this thing. The anticipation for the first launch is killing me not to mention keeping me motivated
Cheers fellas, I hope you like it and it is very nice to meet you all
