1st I want to thank you for a great site and letting me join!

I am 37yrs old, and always have been a motorhead and a Chevy nut. I have a 76 Laguna S3 that was my 1st car and I would love to restomod someday. I have an 82 Camaro that I did a lot of terrorizing in as well.

My wife has never been into cars, but while checking out the mail 1 day 3 years ago she saw an add for Factory 5. She said it was such a cute little car and asked if I ever thought of building something like that. I said "Yes dear, that is just the cutest little car.... How about I build you one?"

Well, just about 3 years later and it is pretty much done, just some interior work is left. I went with a SBC since I have always been a Chevy nut. I REALLY wish I would have went with an LS instead, but I was spooked by the wiring and computer. Would be awesome to have the HP and the MPG. Maybe next time...

Now I am hoping to find a C3 to go with it...

Here is a couple of pics...

one of my close friends got a great deal on a 1/2 finished project car when some guy he knew was getting divorced, he re-built the project car into a very similar looking AC COBRA, to what your pictures show, but I helped him install a BIG BLOCK 502 in it,that had 11:1 cpr and a roller cam and dual quads that produced just under 600hp, and mated with a muncie 4 speed trans. he loved the car but eventually sold it because he said it attracted constant attention and he could rarely stop anyplace, to get gas, groceries, or park at a motel without having a crowd form asking questions, or people following him in traffic and several times he had people follow him home, and he said it was not unusually for cops to follow him for miles, sometimes to just look over the car, but other times he got the impression they were looking for any excuse to ticket him.
on the plus side he said it attracted young ladys who would come over looking for rides with a big smile rather effectively also

LOVE those chevy powered COBRA REPLICAS
GRUMPYS got several guys that drive those that come by his shop
and one guys got a 429 ford in his that screams

yeah! Ive always thought those cobra kit cars made a nice hot rod because of the basic easy to work on lay-out and light weigh, and the ability for most guys to customize them with ease, easy access to components, far lower weight and the ability to customize the drive train make those AC COBRA KIT CARS a fun option, especially with a killer SBC or BIG BLOCK CHEVY , or LS series engine, thats producing over 500 ft lbs and 500 hp, in fact Ive even installed a 500 caddy drive train in one and it was a blast to drive
