Hello my name is Mike. I was just poking around looking for info on my CFI throttle bodies that I just machined and inserted oil lite bearings into and could'nt believe how lucky I was to come across this website. Ive been following GVs advice for over 15yrs. from several websites. With all the "genital" swinging from so called "Ive been a mechanic for yrs"guys on different forums grump's advice you can always take to the bank and on that rare occasion when he isnt familiar (which is as rare as bigfoot scat) he has no problem saying so. Thanks grumpy for starting this website. Im on my last two builds. I am just finishing an 84 Z51 and have a longtime, slow build of a 73 240Z with a 500hp 383 stroker . My last build was an 82 ZX and was a multi best of show winner and was in the Z car calendar 2 yrs in a row and had the inventor of the Z, Mr.K in it on a couple of occasions. I look forward to all the vast info from all the knowledgable members on this site and if im fortunate enough, be able to help and give my humble advice. Thanks again GV!!

Welcome Mike!
That '73 240Z must be an awesome site with that Stroker! I believe there is another member here with a sbc in an early Z.
Good luck and enjoy the reading!

Thanks Grumpy, I use to hang out on hybridZ a long time ago during my first build and thats where I had tapped into your vast knowledge of TPIs along with Myron Cotrell over at TPIS. Living in Ca. with its "stringent" smog laws I had to scrap implanting a tpi motor into my ZX so I built a stock NA motor that was taking turbo Zs in our club (ZONC). My avtar is the calendar shot of it. My 240 still has about 15 grand in brand new parts sitting in boxes in my office so no pics to brag about yet because I started on my 84 vette to just fix what makes the cfi bad and drive it till I can get an LS motor to swap in which has been nothing but a low hp money pit and having a parole officer/ accountant/warden/credit agency also known as a wife slows the builds way down.

I think that more than a few guys have wives that fail to see the need of owning a fast car or the need to see any cash diverted to that resource

What else is there after the women suck the life out of us?

THAT MAY BE THE REASON RACING,
HUNTING AND FISHING REMAIN POPULAR,

IT's SIMPLY ,TIME THAT ALLOWS YOU TO THINK CLEARLY AND,
FOR THE FAIRLY COMMON MALE LEVEL OF CALM & REASON,
AND PEACEFUL THOUGHTS TO RETURN

My wife call the my beloved TT the "Steel Mistress" :D

Presumably because I spend hours in garage after midnight working on her. o_O

That's also why I built the "Iron Lover" for my wife... the 1971 Karmann Ghia
