Just wanted to say thank you for the Great site ! The Grump was THE MAN ! I met him once and bought a shirt from him at a race in the 80's at US131 Martin Mi. He was always my idol as a young man when most of us banged a stick shift ! Man I miss those days ! ;)

welcome to the site, while we have a great deal of hot rod and engine related info to share , learned over many decades and many very skilled members, the sites NOT connected with the LATE gumpy jenkins, BTW I have also talked with the late GRUMPY JENKINS and DOZENS of other older , more experience RACERS

I only met and talked very briefly to the man once at a florida race track, in gainsville, at the time I was about in my mid 20s-early 30s, and he was not what you might call overly fond of talking with fans in a big pit area, crowd at the time while he worked.
but I used to read the articles he wrote and it was obvious he had a dry sense of humor, as he obviously left out info that he knew would be required to make some of the "TIPS" he posted work correctly... expecting the more knowledgeable guys to understand and probably chuckling to himself thinking about the new guys frustrations
