Welcome to the forum Crepitus !!!

Is this just a weekend driver or does it have to be available every day ? Looks like you got a good start on a fun car to drive. Good pictures are always welcome.

One of your terms is unfamiliar to me (D36 bat wing), but probably most Vette owners know what you mean.

Thanks for the warm welcome! The car is a toy. Half track rat, half general hot rod. I want to do a HP Drivers ed and a autox now and then. Where it needs to perform best is on the road course. My focus is strong tork coming off the corner at 3-3500 rpm shifting at 5800 and chiped at 6000. Kinda like a short track limited late model. I would like it to be reliable and fun at the track and able to survive a couple of 400 mile trips each year. It defantly doesn't need to be a comfortable cruiser or daily driver. If I could figure out how I would be thrilled to use a late model or modified for a daily driver!

btw; I am so thankfull for this board! It is exactly the stuff I need and enjoy learning.

The C4 Vette uses an all aluminum Dana 36 or Dana 44 based IRS The bat wing is a center section to contain the 3rd member much like a ford 9 inch. It also mounts the 3rd member to the frame.
I'll get to work on the pic posting. at this point I have no idea how to post em.

So Crepitus......how is your project coming along? Any progress? Any pictures?

Like old people....O wait I am old people. Any way mostly just maintenance stuff. Ball joints, U joints, wheel bearings er hubs or whatever they call those overpriced damn things, headlight switch, I have some hoses coming so I can install a ps pump Turnone put together for me. Just a bunch of stuff like that. I picked up a pair of Eddy 185cc heads to add to the package (instead of a set of 113s) when I pull the engine, ditch the XFire and swap cam oil pump pan heads intake headers 650dp and a old style stealth. I picked up a Richmond 6 speed and a 3.7 D44 as well. When I start into something interesting I will fire up a thread here, probly in the Vette section.
Thanks for askin!
Dave

It's already interesting !!!

I'm sure someone is interested in replacing front end components or how did you get
the dash apart to replace the headlight switch.

Remember......were car nuts here!
