Hi folks, Kenny Bee from eastern San Diego County in Calif on the “left” coast (Ramona). I found this website a month or so ago and was AMAZED at the wealth of knowledge accumulated here and many knowledgeable folks to go with it, so, I had to join in!
I’m a retired mechanical engineer that has been working on and racing cars for 40+ years, but smart enough to know I don’t know everything.
I’ve been thru many cars in my lifetime (Chrysler, GM, Ford). My latest project is a 1971 Nova which presently has a 377 Small Block Chevy drag race engine in it. I bought the 377 a few years back as an unassembled project that I used to teach my son’s how to build an engine and now trying to sell it.
The Nova originally came with a 496 600 HP pump gas BBC that could literally spin the tires at 50 mph at will with a little coxing from your right foot.
I also have three other engines for the car:
- 408 SBC / Dart block / Iron Eagle heads dynoed at 630 HP that I’ve used drag racing for many years; bullet proof engine,
- 540 BBC race motor, Bowtie block and heads, Crower N2O cam, 400 shot port injected N2O system; estimated 900 HP on motor, 1300 HP on N2O,
- 400 SBC street engine that we got from a friend cheap. Not sure what’s in it other than Bowtie heads. Looks to be in good shape.
Some pictures of my stuff below. Glad to be part of this forum!
