History of Fuel Octane! O the good old days!

Kinda hard to determine accurate back in the late 1950's & 1960's up to 1970 Year because everyone's memory is Foggy & only have 1 single forum post to go by...
But it appears regular fuel low compression engines with 8.6 to 9.0 :1 back then required 93 RM/2 fuel today.

And High Performance High Compression Engines 10.0 :1 to 11.75 : 1 & Higher used Premium Fuel with 99-100 Octane.
12.5 - 13.0 :1 used Sunoco 260 or 280 that appears to have 104 -106 octane.
