Holley #9380 Competition 850 Cfm Annular Booster Double Pumper Performance Tests

Raining so no Big Burnouts today like earlier this week.
The Holley #9380 Competition 850 CFM Annular Booster Double Pumper Carb is Awesome.
Driving 90-100 mph in light rain.
Passing at 110-120 mph.
Everyone is doing 90 mph.

1965 Oldsmobile 425 ci V8 Super Rocket V8 Power.
Turbo 400 Trans. No electric kickdown hooked up.
3.23 Posi in the Pontiac 9.3 Differential.
P225 70R15 Cooper Cobra All season performance street tires.
4200 lbs weight with me driving and gasoline 22 gallons on the Gas Tank.

Not bad for running on 87 RM/2 Cheep pump gas.
Cranking compression at 185-190 psi with Stock A Cast Iron heads.
Offy Dual Port intake.
Vertex Magneto ignition.
Accel C-cut gap Spark plugs.

Moves out and hauling Azz.
More Power to be had. Need to buy more larger jets for secondary side.
She wants Fuel.

80 Primary jets.
78 Secondary jets.
8.5 AED High Flow Power valve.
Dual 50 CC accelerator pumps installed.
#45 Squirter nozzles installed.
6.5 psi fuel pressure.
Total timing set to 33 degrees BTDC.
All.in by 1500 rpms at the Crank checked with my Snap On 2261 digital advance timing light.
Who needs EFI ? Not me here.

David Vizzard is right Grumpy.
No such thing as too big of a carburator.
The limit is the Booster design.
And Emulsion circuits.

Can't wait to stomp on the Gas in the 70 TA.
My new Bo Laws BLP Pro Flow 1085 CFM Race carb going on.
650 Hp NA at least before Nitrous Emergency power.

The 9380 Holley I chose is made for drag racing in a light car 2200- 2800 lbs.
Vintage design from 1980's I read on the Mopar 440 Forum.
Many used on the street.
I have a stock stall torque converter yet at 1400 rpm only.
The 425 had a special switch pitch TH400 .
High stall dead stop launch stall was 2800-3200 rpm.
Finish the other TH400 Code PR trans..have a Hughes 2500 rpm stall to go in.

The Holley list is interesting.
Needs more research and study each model.

Can't wait to see a video!

Very responsive. I guess the stumble is gone?
99 %.
I think I can bump the Total Timing to 37 Degrees BTDC Mike to 1965 Olds Starfire 425 ci 370 Hp Specs.
Delta 98 Engine I have called for 27- 33 degrees BTDC.

Need more jets 80-90 in 4 each.
The 9380 Holley wants to be True Square jetted.
The Odd Offenhauser Dual Port has perfect fuel distribution.
No need to stagger jet it.

Can't wait to see a video!
Can't wait either.
Only east way describe the TA in past its torque power band and top end Hp it had was EXPLOSIVE.
THE LAST MIDNIGHT MAYHEM Drag Event I did with the Trans Am At Cordova Raceway IL all the younger guys in thier Turbo cars went craxy.
Said I smoked the tires at 1000 foot mark.
I banged 4 th gear WOT Shift.

Cold morning start is not too bad with no choke plate.
A little cold blooded 1st 10 seconds.
Depress the accelerator pedal 2 times.
Turn the WW2 Warbird Magneto Switch On.
Crank the key & it fires off in 1/2 second the 425 V8.
Idles slow around 650 rpm.
Let it hit on all 8 cylinders 10 seconds.
Goose it light it 2500 -3000 rpm's.
It revs right away like a 410 ci SBC 14.0:1 compression Dirt Track Race engine.
Keep your foot on the gas light and let it warm up till the 1963 Pontiac Green Cold Coolant temp light goes off in the speedometer cluster.
Instant throttle response in park.

Behaves like the Trans Am did with the SD455 800 cfm Q-jet. I wired the choke open on that carb.

Nice having true mechanical secondaries.
SD455 Q-jet same way true mechanical.

I ordered Holey # 50 .050" accelerator pump nozzles.
A pair of #80 Holley Jets.
Finish square jetting secondary side to match primary side on the #9380 Holley 4bbl.
Order total $31.98 Summit Racing.

Going to have Head pipes bent up.
Been running open Starfire 425 exhaust manifolds thus far.
Been just reading spark plugs and using the Butt Dyno Street Race test drives for past 3 years.
Head pipes I can mount my AEM UGEO AFR Wideband O2 sensor guage.
It Data logs too.
Want open pipes exit just like the early Gasser Racers and early 1959-63 SD389 & 421 Racers did.
No one cares how loud it is here.
Get thumbs up from everyone.
Police 5.0 pull next to me and smile.
They like and watch Street Outlaws on Tv too .

Think she wants a tad bit more accelerator pump shot of Fuel primary side.
Mechanical secondaries kick in instant she hits hard.
Like a,Nitrous Oxide power hit.

I filled out my 1 year extended warranty online during lunch at Holley.
Super Great!

Left Positive Feedback.

My videos yesterday I posted on The Oldsmobile V8 groups on Facebook.
They all Love my Death 63 Gp Street Race machine.

I bought 1 more Goodie today for Razor Fine tuning in the Holley #9380 Race carb.

Holley 26-137 Secondary Idle adjustment lever assembly to adjust Topside.
They are proud of that little guy part.
$47.00 from Summit Racing.
Found one New on ebay for $24.00 free shipping.
Same assembly is stock on my Bo Laws 1085 Racing carb.

It will make sure the primary side throttle blades stay in the Off idle T-transfer slot.
Set idle speed secondary side.

It's pretty darn good now the Performance.
Had LS3 Corvette Power prior .
I street raced one last year and stayed with him neck to neck and it's even faster now the 63 Gp.

Leave it alone till my tuning goodies get here.
