Hi All,

I have a 427 big block which has a newish Holley carburettor and anti dieseling solenoid. The car currently idles between 500-550 RPM.

I want to bump this up to 650 RPM, can I just adjust the idle speed screw?

Thanks

in most cases YES!
why not try it, in 50 rpm stages until you get where you intend on the idle rpm,
and see if you get results you like?
keep in mind if its an auto trans,
it may make the car a bit more prone to creep forward in gear
if your parked at a light so youll need to keep a foot on the brakes.
obviously if things don,t work out the way you expect...
you can back track and be no worse off,
and have not spent any money and very little effort
