one of the most popular rifles being sold are the basic military look alike clones or AR15/M16 style rifles
these used to be only common in the 223 rem and 308 win calibers but theres at least 30 different calibers currently available

I have a scoped flat-top Bushy, I'd like to add one of the plain-jane GI version to the collection but don't need one. I think I've scratched the black rifle itch. I also have a 30-30 at the house in a defensive role and am very comfortable with it.

Grumpy, here's my long-range AR-15. It has a 24" stainless bull-barrel... it currently shoots .223 but will soon be switched over to the 6.5 Grendel bullet so I can reach out to 500+ yards effectively.

Sorry, I know the pic is a bit too large! I just read the pic rules and will keep the size down next time! :D

What topic were you reading that says your picture is to big, was it this one?

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5595

The size of the file at 186 KB is a bit larger than needed for a clear photo, but by all means that is not large enough to worry about. If you are referring to the resolution of 800 x 534, I use 800 x 600 all the time. Again I think 800 pixels wide is just right for most graphics on this forum.

If money was not a major hindrance Id get a 308 cal version, with a heavy varmint style 24" stainless barrel

If I'd know how much money I'd end up spending on my Bushmaster, I'd have bought an Armalite AR10A2.

the M14 has such a look especially with the stainless barrel, they are great rifle too.

Going out today & buying the S&W M&P-15 sport I think I`ve been looking online & today I`m going around to gun shops to compare . There are so many different versions & calibers of theese guns its confuseing I`ve stared at the computer til my eyes were crossed but I`m getting one today just in case the muslim gets reelected or HELLARY gets her way 1-20-2013 END OF AN ERROR

The AR is addicting & fun I bought my first one 3 years ago now I have 6 AR's & an AK &I am going to build at least 4 more

I've always felt the m1A1 was more the style of rifle I preferred, but I certainly see the AR is more popular

You can build all you want for your self with 80% receivers at home. Gov'mnt don't have to know about them. Build for less than $500.00 each or as expensive as you want. As long as it is close at 100 yards and goes bang every time you pull the trigger. I'm Happy. AK's also at home for about the same money. Happy shooting!!

I like the AR. It is what I'm used to from my years in the military. Easy to disassemble, reliable, customizable, light, very little recoil for the power of the rounds used, what isn't to like if you appreciate firearms? I have an AR-10, actually called a DPMS LR-308. Good rifle once it is broken in. At first it had a scope, but I realized that in the brush of Missouri where I live, a red dot sight would be more practical since long shots are rare.

I,ve always thought a DPMS LR-308 with a heavy barrel and bi-pod would be fun toy
