HOWDY TO ALL THAT LOVE HP, NOISE, BURNT RUBBER, RACING FUEL, AND PISSING OFF ENVIRO WHACKO'S AND GUN

welcome too the web site
do you have a link that details what rules and restrictions you are forced too use,
after building quite a few circle track engines for local guys,
your almost surely racing ,where the rules limit your options,
even further than those items you listed above.
too build and use for the cars engine and other components
most classes restrict you in carb size, engine displacement, compression, etc.
type of heads cam lift etc. (but theres usually other additional restrictions)
you certainly seem to have had valuable past experience,
hopefully you can post a great deal of the related knowledge gained.

Welcome. You're going to fit in just fine around here.
Look at what Crower has for lifters.
I'm just going to point out 1 thing you already know -
when a beehive valve spring breaks, you drop the valve.
Dual valve springs can mean the difference between a hurt engine and totally trashed.
Live to race another day!:D

You will need at least 250-275 cfm intake port Iron heads with a full bore Circle track cam.
Isky Cams are excellent.
What we used dirt tracking here in Illinois.
Welcome to Grumpys.
Yeah Buddy, the old (here I am dating myself) ISKY Z series cams we used a lot in the old super stocks. Z30's-50's were favorites. So were General Kinetics. I have a new GK 300C here but lost the timing card and haven't got around to sticking it in a block and degree it. It's around 298 /550 on 108 centers as I recall. Cant find my GK catalog either. Wish I could find one.

Yeah sure, https://www.wescosprints.com/2018rules.htm
we run WESCO (western economy sprint car org). The rules are 365 cid max, flat tops, flat tappets, ANY iron head, any rocker, "production" cranks meaning no "one of custom stuff", any rod, no titanium anything (good), no gasoline (good) injected/alky. These are real sprinters just no WOO rules that put your house in mortgage. I've built many winning engines, and have enough old used stuff to build a couple hellacious grenades, but why? I'm too old to screw around and was never known for blowing up. We made it in the NASCAR record book in 1978 with a crew of Bob Bryson owner/driver and me. I started crewing at the Spokane fairgrounds in 1971 when I was 14 and had to sneak in. Used to smear grease on my face for a 5 oclock shadow and stand tall and talk low. LOL. Also gonna run with the GOLDEN WHEELS when we can. It's the old Canadian American Modified Racing Association CAMRA as we have a lot of buddies from back in the day with their original cars. Kenny Hamilton's PINK LADY is still BEAUTIFUL and FAST, Ralph Monhay has his original SBF powered car and ole Ralphie is 84 still standing on it! We sold Blaine Sneva back his original CAMRA car (Mark Devlin had it since 1976) and he's the guy to beat out there. Going out to stateline takes 40 years away. God how I LOVE IT! Here's my 1982 Barnett sprinter as it sits in Daytona. Finally (I think) found a damned trucking outfit that hasn't lied to me. Should be home here in Spokane in time for the DEER PARK DRAG STRIP REUNION held every year in September. Car came in 2nd behind Jeff Swindell at Tulsa WOO 1988. It was the backup car, Hadn't been ran in several years, they stuck an engine in it and the old car made a good accounting of itself with Tommy Estes driving. It's on youtube Tulsa WOO 1988

YESIREE, that's the bad thing about beehives, I AM having 2nd thoughts about them for that very reason. Never used 'em before but they sure sound good over the phone. If the heads come complete from Dart, they have Howards duals on 'em at 130/430 at 1.800 and if I can find out for sure what valves are in there, I'll think about going that way. They're about 1100 bucks a pair at CompProd so the price is right. WAAAY right. -12 Brodix, you can't even smell them for that.

Kinda Limited what you can do.
Restricted to a small cylinder bore size.
Heads can only flow a set given amount with a small bore size unless its a Twisted Wedge Head style like Trickflow used to make.
Cast Iron only.
No Titanium allowed.
Endurance engine running 7,000-7,500 Rpm steady on a long track.

Its all going to be done with the Camshaft.
None Better than Iskenderien I have found.

Yes, Competition Products has some great deals every so often.
You just have to keep checking.

be aware of the quality of the components you select, there are several merchants that advertise a great deal based on lower prices,
who generally deal in the lower and mid range quality products,
and their goal seems too be a low price volume discount supply house.
now Ive seen a few good deals, over the years but keep in mind,
youll generally find discount price parts, use lower quality components or,
less extensive precision machine work, or imported components or a combination of those factors to reduce price.
now I'm not picking on the lower price parts suppliers, they certainly have a place in the economy and hobby.
I use rockauto and advanced auto, walmart and several other suppliers,
if I need too ,but I generally know the parts and use name brands not cheaper import clones.
remember thats frequently a very noticeable difference in quality, in similar components,
you may pay more for name brand parts and at times the higher cost is not justified in my opinion,
but many of the better known brands do tend to have better quality control and R&D
I would suggest you do research and avoid using the lowest cost import parts like bearings, brakes, and suspension parts ,
as Ive seen horrendous quality control on some import component examples
