Hydraulic engnine mounts

I replaced the engine mounts on my 2004 GMC Envoy with 120K on it. I was getting a lot of vibration and noise especially when cold. It was a very easy job. You can see how much shorter the old mounts were when compared to the new ones. Very quiet and soothe now like when it was new. These mounts are filled with oil are are considered hydraulic mounts. I suppose they out perform just rubber ones.

The old mount was squashed about 1/2 inch shorter.

Ive never seen those style motor mounts used on a Chevy or GMC engine,before?, Im wondering if theres a reason?
perhaps they are just too new, or limited in applications they were used on, and I've yet to come across a set?
