I Got Ask To Provide hand load, Info On A Load For A Rifle a friend just purchased
The problem here is that each rifle is rather unique, what may be a stellar and accurate load in my rifles MAY or MAY NOT, provide similar results in your rifle.
factors like twist rates, and chamber rifling lead distance, barrel harmonics, even the way a shooter holds a rifle, can make a big difference.
yeah, I can tell you what works great in my rifle but it may or may not work the same in even a similar rifle in every case.
a change in the powder charge or primer or bullet brand can make a significant change in group size.

those gentlemen that are not into reloading their own ammo are very unlikely to have seen the differences than what might be considered minimal changes to the ammo can cause!
example
I have a 30/06 BLR that will consistently place three shots at 100 yards off a good bench rest in less than a 3/4" group with one favorite load I use
53 grains of imr 4350 and a 215 fed primer under a 200 grain speer bullet, seated out to the max length that the magazine and chamber will allow.
that load and bullet has become my standard for that rifle as a result
https://www.speer.com/bullets/rifle_bullets/hot-cor_rifle_bullet/19-2211.html
change the over all seated bullet/ cartridge length, primer or powder charge
even marginally and 1.5"-2" 100 yard 3 shot groups are more likely
one of the guys I hunt with has a remington bolt action 30/06 that shoots the same ammo into about 2.4" groups,
but he consistently gets 1" groups with 150 grain hornadys and WW760 powder
theres no doubt that each rifle seems to prefer specific ammo configurations and as a hand loader it can take some effort/time to find that preferred matching load.
Id also have to point out that about 90% of the deer and elk Ive ever shot with that BLR in caliber 30/06 have been shot at well under 200 yards,
and I doubt there would have been a nickels worth of difference , in the results, (very dead game)
if I used that favorite handload or one that held a 2" group with a similar bullet

Thats just part of the fun of reloading and why I prefer to shoot down at the farm with no interruptions . I built a wolmanized shooting bench a few years ago that it takes the front loader to move I bought a bullet length checker and the modified case for each caliber I shoot so in a way I'm kind of starting over seating 20 thousandths off the lands

Funny story. My wife is on a local (our town of Ottsville) Facebook section and our neighbors one block over posted this request.

To our friends on Deerfield. We are having a wedding reception at our house, Saturday afternoon. Will my neighbors on the block please refrain from fire practice that afternoon.”

I like that and its a hell of a lot better to ask than to just call the police and the request is ligit the neighbors are used to shooting but it might excite some guests

Found this on another forum.

Do you suffer from ITFS (itchy trigger finger syndrome)? Are you tormented by the lack of recoil in your life? There is hope. Ask your doctor if this rifle is right for you, as it may not be for everyone. Side effects may include higher testosterone levels, more chest hair, grilling raw meat on a wood fire, patriotism, lots of woman trying to crawl into your bedroom window, being promoted at work, freedom, pouring whiskey on your cereal, and witty James Bond one liners.

You will, for the first time, begin to understand the Constitution of the United States and feel the hand of the founding fathers rest on your battle scarred shoulder in approval as the recoil from a .308 caliber hunk of lead greatness beats the wimp out of you.

This rifle solves problems that you didn't even know you had. Did your Saturday just get taken away by that miserable baby shower? Not on my watch. Now you're going hunting. What are you hunting you say? You're killing off that woose side of you that didn't say no to a baby shower. It’s time to get your balls back. It’s time for the sweet song of .308 recoil therapy to play you a symphony of precision destruction.

What's that you say? Why do you need all that firepower? Look here snowflake, if that's your attitude, you'd be best to just keep scrolling; you’ll find the skinny jeans that you're looking for on another website, next to the pretty pink coffee mugs that your wife likes on Pinterest. This marvel of American innovation eats terrorists for breakfast. Is this rifle made of light weight recycled plastic? No, it's a heavy contour 26 inch barrel, because you need to weed out the weaker pansies on your hunting trips that whine about the "cold weather" or complain about the "land mines". This rifle understands you, and as you take command of the aluminum forged bolt, you become more and more aligned with the patriots of old, the Marines of Tunn tavern, and Chesty Puller himself smiles down on you from heaven's gates of pearl and concertina wire. You will piss napalm. You won't need to take protein shakes anymore because your muscles are already exploding from your new all-bacon diet cooked from the 800 lb. wild boar that you just killed.

This black beauty has a textured surface on the grip to ensure that you get a firm grasp with your blood soaked fingers. The Harris engineering bi pod will hold your death machine securely on atop your red white and blue zodiac vessel during night time amphibious assaults. Are you really just going to sit there and let your 2nd amendment get wasted on buying some piece of junk .22? How sad. Carlos Hathcock would be rolling in his grave. But you won't be one of those "men". You'll be the personified hammer of Thor, bringing the pain train to all the enemies of our amber waves of grain. Heck, don't just do it for your country, do it for all the sad lesser men who are trapped right now, as I speak, at some tea brunch with their mother in law.

Do it for all of our fellow brothers who are trapped in the “friend zone.” Do it for your future generations of children, so they can tell their own children how they're dad didn't rob them of the sweet smell of gunpowder in the morning. If you feel like you just don't have the testicular fortitude to take charge of this masterpiece of modern engineering, then hey, I get it. I understand. You're probably right. Wouldn't want to interfere with your Yoga routine, now would we. Your vegan hippy friends will be happy that you settled. And if your tiny brain was somehow thinking about outfitting this death merchant with some kind of obnoxious pearl grip pads or some weird decorative Indian feathers, pump the breaks there Pocahontas; show some respect. I already told you to move along!

If you feel like you are interested in it, but aren't a serious buyer because you want to "sleep on it", then do me a favor and wait until your balls drop before you send me your pre-pubescent pleas to lower the price. The price is as firm as my... well it’s really firm, let's just say that. You won't pay any extra taxes or fees on this rifle because I am not a communist. Shipping is free for my fellow marines. If you don't think that's fair then go write a letter to Nancy Pelosi. If you require shipping then I will insure that this boom stick is mailed to an FFL near to your house. If you do not have a gun store near your house, then you are likely from socialist California and I cannot help you. I reside in Kennesaw, GA where the law requires that every male head of the household own a firearm. bald eagle screeches in background.

Oorah. Yut. Echo 5 Romeo over and out.

I got asked what hand loaded ammo I use in my 270 win caliber rifles,
Ive found 58 grains of h4831 and a 150 grain speer bullet over a 215 fed primer in several 270 win chambered rifles to give excellent accuracy
under 1" 5 shot groups off a bench rest at 100 yards consistently, and about 2940 fps in my browning and sako rifles
while Ive only used it on mule deer its proven very lethal, even out at nearly 450 yards on one occasion
https://www.speer.com/bullets/rifle_...t/19-1605.html
some older reload manuals list 60 grains as max, I see no pressure signs but ,
58 grains is the max the case allows and still have the bullet seat to the correct depth.
Id start with 55 grains and work up just to be cautious,
and as always cross check at least three reload manuals

little changes like the brand of primer MATTER
have you ever had a rifle " hang fire"?

if you're not familiar with the term,
it's describing pulling the trigger/dropping the hammer on a cartridge so the firing pin strikes the primer but theres a noticeable delay in the ignition or the rifle firing.
now that delay might only be a small fraction of a second, but you'll damn sure notice the small delay between you pulling the trigger and the rifle firing.
I've had it happen once while at the range, with remington primers I used and once while hunting, both times it was with reloaded ammo,
that worked flawlessly most of the time ,
but I never had it happen before or since using FEDERAL PRIMERS
I normally use 215 FEDERAL PRIMERS, in my magnum rifles, never had any issues... but on this one elk hunt,
Id loaded up some 375 H&H ammo with Remington 9 1/2 mag primers as it was all I could locate at that time.
so Id purchased 300 at the local gunshop. and ordered a couple 1000 federal 215 primers that did not arrive until after I left on a hunt!
I was using a load of 75 grains of WW760 powder under a hornady 270 grain bullet.
in my SAKO that will shoot consistent 1.2" 100 yard 5 shot hundred yard groups,
and I use the rifle for hunting dark timber. where 100 yard shots are rare!
ITS A VERY EFFECTIVE COMBO.
they (different primer brands in loaded cartridges)
are rather easy to tell the difference as the Remington primers were gold in color while federal primers are silver in appearance.
the temperature was well below zero F at the time on the hunt the delay was maybe 1/3rd of a second,
just enough time to have you start to realize the gun did not fire... when it then did!
yes I still hit the intended target as it was an elk running through timber at about 45 yards,
but trust me when I say...having a rifle fire after a slight delay is a very noticeable thing to have happen.
