I made the plunge

I bet you got one of those smiles that just won't go away!!! Maybe after a couple of hours sleep, but then when you wake up tomorrow it will be back again!!!

exactly that evil smile that wont get away :)
i must retain from driving it because i dont think sleeping will be an option tonight lol.

One thing i noticed and am wondering about.
The cut-in and cut-out pressure setting
Actually the tank is good for 150 psi.
The factory setting are somewhat low.

cut in at 95 and cut out at only 125 psi.
The spec sheet on the side of the tank say it can be set up to 135 psi and need a 30-40 pressure differential.
Am thinking on increasing the cut in and cut out pressure by 10 psi each.
So the compressor would cut in at 105 psi and cut out at 135 psi(keeping the actual 30psi pressure differential).

I think more is better or should i avoid doing that to avoid overheating/advanced wear problems?
Also its setup at about 14 inch from two wall(in a corner) is that too close? There is no overheating problem right now but it did not see severe duty yet.

Sometimes the hardest part on the system is start up. There is certainly a trade off there, but which way to go I have no idea.

Got myself an airbrush, it arrived this monday so i practiced monday and yesterday.(2x2hour practice session and am self learning)
this is what i get on my second session(click to enlarge)

Its far from perfect but better then expected. had some dryed paint on the needle when i switched to the white so i got some unwanted effects.

Well, i took a short brake from airbrushing, i think i got pissed because i couldnt do something that looked good.
Yesterday i started again, i practiced like 5 time the skull.. and i did this one in 2 hour today

But i still can't make true fire/flame.. its driving me crazy, whatever i try again and again i make 0 progress with fire/flame.
Good thing i make a decent looking skull because i would have give up.

Well you are right about the skull .....it looks damn good !!!

Now about those flames, maybe you just need to get pointed in the right direction. I did a Google search on "Air Brushing Flames" and got all kinds of hits, including several YouTube hits. Have looked for any help on the web for inspiraton ???

Yeah, i looked almost every youtube airbrushing video lol, and am registered at airbrushforum/airbrushtutor website, they have been really helpfull with everything so far.
I also read every iwata-artool article and alot more.

on airbrush forum they told me, the tutorial i was using it was for urethane candy paint(am using primary waterbased color) and that fire was extremly difficult to master and many people on the forum can not do fire.

Think i will move to something else, and stop beating myself with fire.
