I Need A Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner For A ‘68 To ‘73(?) Pontiac Qjet But . . .

I looked at the Edelbrocks . None say they fit 1970 QJ Catalina’s. Edelbrock all has drop bases and they won’t sit without some interference with the choke and accelerator pump arm. I can’t return that from Amazon if I can’t show the chart says it will fit my car.
There are a few sub $30 units that will work. I have a washable filter element that’s 14” and if any air cleaner fits tight with a gasket to the carb and the lid fits tight, all the air is sucked through the filter - then I don’t see why there’s any problem.
I was told this one fits well but it’s twice the money.

It's the Summit Racing link description fits Edelbrock Quadrajet, they sold thier own line of 1975-79 rebuilt Quadrajets for 20 years.
I had an Oldsmobile 403 in the Gp for a long time. Factory Quadrajet with a Chrome Edelbrock Pro Flow air cleaner.
It fits .

I have a base from an OE 4 barrel air cleaner and a nice OE 2 barrel (complete). If I had a welder I could cut the bottom ring of the 4 barrel base and weld it on the 2 barrel and have an air cleaner that will fit. Looking at a new welder this week (should have never sold my welder!).

Yes. Ricky has it now.

you need to buy that TIG I have so we BOTH benefit.

Isn’t that the huge, heavy outfit? I have little to zero need to stick/arc weld. I will likely never see any need for anything other than light duty, quick repairs and some tacking or spot welding at the most. Reminder - I don’t have anything in my pipeline for restoration now or in the future. I don’t want anything complicated or cumbersome to set up, no surplus inventory.

Well the air filter came yesterday, does’t look too bad, not that I will keep it on it’s just something there better than nothing until I find a half decent dual snorkel piece. It’s a pretty air tight fit with the lid down tight. I wrapped some plastic wrap around the filter and the car stalled in less than a minute.

It should have died instant

Well it was almost instantly. I’m sure it’s not as tight as pulling vacuum from a pump.
So far so good on the New K&N Racing Air Filter on the Pontiac.
I can see all the dirt and dust being trapped on the Filter media.
Used a Moroso paper filter for years prior made by Atlas Filter company.
Rick uses a 4 inch Wix Street or Racing filter on his T-bucket his hasn't worn out burning oil or blew up.

Feedback on parts has always been important to me.
Love Ultra Fast but I also need True Road Race Dependable.
