I need a good reason not to buy this . .

I like it Richard.
Call Them.
Check it out in person and drive it.
No way can you duplicate the same for similar $.
You can always customize to your own liking .

Just to build a BBC To Grumpys level you will have $10,000 -12,000 in the Engine alone.

We're going to NJ to see this truck in an hour or so, I hope a tag place is found open late over there. I'm waiting for my buddy Mike to pick up a friend who's a cop. I'd feel better if I had someone with me when caring cash like that and there's just a little bit of me that thinks this is too cheap and something is up. Sorry guys, I don't have a carry permit, never needed one ( I know you guys want to spank me for saying that - LOL). Years ago a bad situation could have got much worse if I didn't stop and throw my 45 off the Memorial Bridge one really challenging night - long story.

Ok, I'm back. The place really wasn't as far as I originally thought. The seller turns out he's a small one man car dealer.
Now the truck,
Not a frame off restoration, nice paint but old trim. Floors had replacements in some areas. Not an original big block truck. Interior very nice.
I started to think maybe I could take this truck and tweak it just a little bit and try to flip it, or perhaps leave it alone. At this point I had to step back and think about this. The seller is not doing much to market the truck, but he's not trying to hide anything either. My idea truck would have A/C and I'd rather see a TH400 then a 350.
Whatever I get its not going to be a long term keeper, so on those terms I want the deal to have some meat left so if it can be flipped and I can clear a few bucks . . .
What do you guys think?

from the brief description, Id pass and look for a better deal unless he drops the price at least 2K

Back to Musclecars again Richard.
Pontiac GTO And not Cloned.
Big Block Chevy Corvette or Chevelle.
Not Cloned again.
Cream of the Crop still....
Any 440 & 426 Hemi Mopar Muslecar.
Bare Carcass Mopar Musle brings $15-20 k alone if 440- 6 pack.
Hemi Tagged add 30-50 K more value.
No Shit....Far more valuable than Corvette.

Texas. Nevada.
California . Arizona. New Mexico.
Good states to search in.
Good Pontiacs don't come free or cheep either.

I'm really not into Corvettes anymore, so much so that's the very reason I'm looking for someone to finish the little bit left on my '71. I get bored really quick theses days henceforth the reason I sold off everything. I've been looking for a half finished Early Firebird or GTO but all I'm finding is clones, restomods and over priced crap. It's time to go back to Mecum.

Your Taste is just Highly Refined Richard.
McDonalds crap just won't do.
Gives Gas & Stomach Bends.

Don't forget to take me along to Mecums with You.
I am your walking talking breathing Poncho expert. I don't need the internet.
Its all in my Brain memorized.

I really like Oldsmobile Musclecars too.
They run really Strong.
Civilized and Refined.
Most built with Factory A/C.
Very Reliable and drive anytime anywhere .
1970 Oldsmobile 442 455 W30 The Very Best. Convertible or Coupe are Fantastic .

It's not a lot of money and the bits and pieces needed to make it all working and a number 3 driver is not much.

We can go to Mecums either this fall or before the weather gets really bad. The Chicago show tends to draw higher prices, how far away is St. Louis or St. Charles? I won't go to Detroit. Tickets and diner is on me.

Ok Br. You know for a long time I've been saying I want to get a big rag-top to take the whole family out and be able to stretch the legs -
How about this one, it's very close to me. What do you think of the price?

She is Beautiful Richard.
I would be proud to own the Big Red Catalina Convertible Drop Top.
And I would drive it.
Very well preserved .
Just needs minor detail work.
You can easily handle that.
Has Factory A/C. What You want and Desire.
Has the Turbo 400 Trans.
All V8 Pontiacs Did 1965-74.
Till the Smog Era in 1975 then the lesser TH350 used in many except for select Full Size Pontiacs . TH400 used up to 1976.

ST Loius I can drive to. 3-4 hours away depending upon traffic.
St Charles pretty close to me.
About 1 hour driving time.
Upscale Chicago Suburb with some $$$$&$. They Love Classic Muscle like Us.
Daring Drag Racers around the area too.

Worth checking out Richard Soon.
The Catalina Drop top is kinda rare.
Not sure how many are left but you just don't see them often period.
Unlike Corvette......No Hellcat worries.
Street Race Legacy well established.
YOU CAN'T TOUCH THIS....BAD AZZ KOOL AND FAST.

I imagine most of these rusted out, destroyed or parts skeletons in junk yards. I can certainly upgrade the chrome. I'll call the guy tomorrow. He says he won't sell for $10,000 - I wonder if $10,300 would fly? (Just thinking outloud) What's it worth, reasonably, after most defects are taken care of?
