I stopped into a local gun-shop to purchase a couple boxes of ammo in several different calibers,
12 ga,
45 acp,
357 mag ,
44 mag,
223 rem,
308 win, etc,
I find that most of the guys I hunt with will either bring over Ammo or BOOZE as a small,
but welcome gesture during holiday visits,
so I tend to keep a couple quarts of scotch, and vodka ,
and common calibers of hand gun, shot gun, and rifle, ammo.
that I generally hand out at Christmas too close friends,
when I don,t know for sure if they will be or will not be exchanging gifts!
(the great point about that strategy is if its not handed out It goes into personal stock)
lately the local gun shops been rather crowded,
and they have been running sales on both hand guns and AR15 clones that are advertised locally.
well I have come through experience to expect a short wait and short lines, and I lucked out today and got what I wanted in less than 10 minutes.......about two to three times less wait than normal, when I commented on the lack of crowds the counter guy said I just must be lucky because most of the morning he had been rather busy and the day before he was swamped. as they had a sales add for ARs for just under $620
to be fair there's only a couple larger fire arms retailers, with a good inventory on site, most of the smaller gun-shops , or sporting goods shops in my area no longer have much inventory and several places don,t carry anything but the most common caliber ammo and almost no quality inventory,
like SAKO,WEATHERBY,BROWNING,or even S&W, or EAA, SIG, GLOCK, DAN WESSON ,COLT, etc.
