so ,while ive been asking here about my 283 . i posted pics of my progress last weekend on other pages and someone noticed the casting numbers on the intake. 3866922. and commented about it being "cwfb ,NICE!!" i had zero information on it other than i found it on ebay for $100 and it came from a 1965 model of the same engine, which mine is dated as dec 28,1964 so most likely offered in a 65 model year truck or chevelle..all i knew when i bought it was i could afford it and it'd fit. now, i'm finding out it may be something highly sought after in the sbc world of factory parts. what can all you old school sbc engine gurus tell me about it. I'll have to get an adapter plate to run my holley square bore. but the extra height is probably welcome for better atomization and keeping the fuel cooler.

Ok I see now, it's in a graphic. I did a search for the number and it didn't show up.

The oil fill tube instantly suggests 327 or 283 sbc in the early 60's.

Edit: just seen the numbers after I posted
