I'm always looking for a reasonably cheap 4x4 PARTS CHASER,
or at least a good value. per dollar spent, in a used truck in decent condition,
thats a crew cab pick-up or SUV,
Id prefer a chevy, ford, Nissan or Toyota,
full size pick-up or suv
like the 1996 bronco that I had for about 12 years,
a very good but not the best SUV/truck, I ever owned
and after I put a great many upgrades like better air shocks
heavy suspension springs, a bigger radiator, HD tow hitch, rear camera,
it was totaled in an accident about 10 years ago.
I replaced it with a 2003 chevy avalanche, which I liked even better,
I upgraded that also with better shocks, springs ,oil/trans cooler etc.
but I gave that to my youngest son when he moved out,
(he moved back in for a few months after selling his old home ,
and before moving to texas and building his ned house there)
I keep an eye out but the vast majority of the local "deals":(
I find are insanely overpriced and have excessive wear and tear, rust and mileage off the charts,
even if you believe the odometer which in many cases is very very suspected as being rolled back,
but local deals are very hard to find.
I have guys say with a straight face... they are asking $23K for a 2009 F350 4x4 with 245K miles on it
and I doubt that was close to accurate, mileage,
just looking at the trucks condition.
any suggestions on what to look for?
now I'm not looking for a specific truck,
just some ideas on make and model & year trucks/SUVs

my budget is very limited here, Id like to keep it under $12K:rolleyes:
and Id like to keep the year range in the 2005-2010 area
what ever I eventually get it has to have the ability to tow a car trailer, easily and seat 5 adults
