Hello all form Southern California; I am new to this forum and have found it to be full of valuable information. I posted a question on Digital corvette and Grumpy answered and was very helpful and informative and told me about his site. Great Guy!

I purchased a 1985 Vett last year with 168,000 miles on it and in pretty rough shape to restore for my wife. I pulled the old motor and trans and installed a salvaged 2003 roller short block crate motor with a rebuilt trans with shift kit. Rebuilt the old heads and converted to roller and installed them after a complete cleaning of the engine compartment and under carriage. Started it up and ran great then I proceeded to gut the interior and install sound proofing, Carbon fibered the dash and console, new carpet, weather stripping, painted all the interior parts black with SEM paint (great stuff), new seat cushions and black covers, new sound system with all the bells and whistles. Installed 96 front and rear bumpers and side moldings and painted the car with 2 stage black paint. Rebuilt the digital dash and installed new color graphics which looks amazing.

Now the car will not start, go figure so am now trying to solve this problem.

taken step bye step and thinking thru each problem, logically, you can isolate and repair the source of the problem
it some times takes a shop manual , and a few tests but its always something that can be located, isolated, replaced, adjusted or repaired

example

theres a good deal of info in this threads links

Well it turned out that the CDI box was not pluged in all the way. Got it started and made all the adjustments and runs great. Only one problem............The car is over heating so will need to pull the thermostat and see if it is working properly. OK I have two problems and maybe some one here and tell me what the problem is. The digital dash water temp stated at like 180 degrees and went up from there so I went to the auto parts store and got a new sending unit. I start the car and it says "Low" car runs for a bit and still says "Low". WTH........ turn the motor off and leave the ignition on and the temp shows 195 or so. So in short with engine runing temp reads Low, with engine off the temp read 195 or what ever the real temp is. ????????????????????????????????

the dash circuitry itself may be defective,a sensor may be defective, but it
sounds like youll need to reprogram the digital dash parameters, (CPU) or possibly you've got a loose ground.
ID suggest pulling trouble codes and getting out a multi meter and verifying the sensor values
