Input for coilovers - '55 210

This a Drag Car or Street Car ?
A Big Chevy with a Powerglide trans means you have lots of torque and Hp.
How much ?
700-900-1000?
4.10 at least diff gears.
Guys used Moroso drag springs.
6 cylinder Chevy springs.
Drag Race only.

Or do you have racing coil over shocks ?

At work yet Grumpy.
Lookup Strange Engineering.
And Eibach coil spring charts.
Post links.

Best to have the chassis car on 4 wheel scales.
Car fueled full.
Driver seated.
Another record each scale weight.
Call the spring manufacter.
Talk to them.

Want to say 400 pounds per inch up front to start.
May be wrong.

Rear depending 4 link or ladder bars depends much upon scaled weight.

Rear of drag car want level at launch or rise 1-2 inches.
Getting 100-150% antisquat traction then.
Rear plunges on launch losing tire grip bad.

I'm seeing spring rates from 250-450 but this car will have the frontend weight reduced, full glass front end, aluminum radiator, BBC w/aluminum heads and glide. Thinking HP to be (realistically) around 625-630 tops. Probably going to stay with 3.89 set in the rear, torque should move the car out from the line and the gear set should let me high mph it in the 1/8. Rear tires are 15x32/15. No idea on spring rates for the rear yet. Mostly aluminum in the back, glass trunk lid, narrowed Mustang fuel tank. Ladder bar car. And yes we have 4-wheel scales - just looking for a starting spot. I'll probably give S&W a call - they're my go-to guys. I miss Scott - he was a heck of a good guy.

chasracer....First name is Charles, I have been racing something since I was about 8 years old - "chasracer". My other racecar is a RED with a triple-nickel packing about 875-880 hp, 1800 pounds ready to go.

why not try the stock springs and make changes as required in response to testing vs guessing?

Still plenty powerfull.
Best to scale the car I think.
Make the phone call.

Its sad when they go.
I am 49.

Yes, I want to go with coilovers and adjustable shocks for tuning reasons. I raced a '55 about 40+ years ago with cut, stock springs - didn't work all that great but that was a 355 small block, 4 spd car with stock rear springs and full metal body.
