I'm by myself so nobody to hit the key to turn the Crank. I don't have a remote starter switch - has anybody made their own? Where do you attach the leads? Do I have to go down to the starter?

If I pull the valve cover (driver's side), which one of the 1st two valves is the exhaust? Last but not least, on a 'vette and turning the crank by hand, do you remove the fan blades to get a socket and long bar on the crank nut?

get the cam gear material match to distributor gear material match, wrong or oil flow match incorrect and rapid wear can result

make sure the oil groove lines up with where the gears mesh when the distributors installed and timed correctly.

btw a long blade screw driver will allow you to index or rotate the oil pump drive shaft to any location you choose, too allow the distributor to fully seat

the oil pump drive and gears can benefit from extra oil flow mods

if your distributor won,t seat on the manifold and gasket, and still leave .030-.050 clearance to the oil pump drive shaft, the oil pump drive shaft may need to be shortened (thats the correct route)or theres distributor shim gaskets

remember the oil pump drive only seats in two locations 180 degrees apart but it can be lined up anyplace you want with a 18" long large flat blade screw driver prior to installing the distributor from the top of the engine rather easily before you re-seat the distributor, but as the distributor gear teeth mesh the distributor will turn the rotor about 15 degrees
