intake question

I guess i have a few questions here..... i know that the torker will fit under the stock hood but i have rec port heads...... is there enough material in the port to open it up? is there an intake that fits under the stock hood that is a single plane rec port? i guess i could go with a direct port fogger btu forgot what intakes fit under a stock low hood.

your best option is installing a taller hood, or hood scoop, I went thru the same problem on my 1968 big block corvette, and all the intakes that produce decent hp require the taller hood, clearance.
now the low rise dual plane intake off the ls6 chevelles will clear, and the torker will clear but they both provide far less than ideal results, there are other options.

having gone both routes a few times,on the 1970-71 chevelles, and some bbc corvettes,
and yes hood clearance makes this choice a P.I.T.A.,
I would suggest the torker II with some plenum and port clean-up work would be your better option.
I did both options on my B.I.L.'s 1974 BBC corvette with a 454 and the torker proved to run marginally better.

just trying to get the best intake that will fit under the stock hood since i don't have the money for a hood and paint...... what is the best intake that will fit a rec port head and fit under the stock hood?

it fits under low hood clearance and it works to route the fuel/air mix to the cylinder heads, but its not a true high flow design and its one of the less effective designs Ive tested
now obviously its main feature is low height allowing its use in tight confines, but adding a hood with increased clearance would be an option Id strongly suggest you look into.
your corvette looks very nice but in my opinion
adding a BIG BLOCK HOOD SURE WON,T HURT ITS LOOKS A BIT

are those stock L88 hoods? If so that is a good thing since a guy i work with has a 68 with an L88 hood and he wants my low hood so no i will have an ecklers L88 hood :) so now what intake will fit :) i konw you don't like hte idea but i think the vic jr may be the intake i use...... I think it will be ok on motor and really shine on the spray..... I guess the RPM air gap will work great on motor but what about with a plate under the carb? something like a 200 or 300 shot?

recap

468 dart pro-one heads here is the dyno sheet

I'm thinking Vic Jr since the plan is to hit it with a plate system 200-300hp and later a cam swap to take greater advantage of the heads

it does have tall gears 3.25's and a th400 with a 3000 stall..... cruises at 2500.

the hood i have is an Ecklers L88 hood...... the more i think about it i really think the best idea is to just use something like an RPM air gap or something like that and shoot it with a direct port fogger system

thats what ID suggest (as I did earlier) btw there ARE aluminum BUNGS designed to be used in custom fabricating the placement of nitrous fogger nozzles, the only problem with use of a dual plane intake is that the runners are at a different height as they enter the cylinder head contact area so the bungs and fuel rail placement can be slightly more difficult than when a single plane intake is used, due to the fuel lines feeding the fogger nozzles, not being as consistent in location,(not a big deal, but be aware) btw many nitrous foggers are threaded 1/16" NPT (NATIONAL PIPE THREAD)
