And not harm the paint (base coat/clear coat)?

I need to get back to the task of removing vinyl lettering and decals from about 15 years ago on a van.
Been using a combo of Eastwood’s plastic razors and heat gun (forget that!).

Then I switched to Eastwood’s rubber eraser wheel. It uses friction to remove vinyl. It works well enough on small, thin lettering but a pain to get off larger letters and big decals.

I just bought a new pressure washer and I do know that the zero and 15 degree tips are like laser cutters, they are automatically out. I’m just curious if anyone has used a pressure washer on good factory paint without damages.

I wash my truck all the time with mine with the 40degree tip mines a ryobi gas power with a 6.5? HP Honda motor

wd 40 spray will, if left for a few minutes to soak in,
remove a few types of vinyl letters and decals

I tried a few(3) decal removers. All that happens is the color bleeds on the surface of the vinyl decals. I may not have left the WD on long enough but it wasn’t any easier to get off. Maybe I should try the Lacquer thinner too.
This is my PW.

I found a solution when wiped on a vinyl wrap or vinyl cut out lettering, allows an easy peel off. I had it overnighted and let me tell you, I got the job done in less than an hour when the other ways took me 2 days to strip 1/3 of the van.

The only downside, this product is sold only by the manufacturer through Amazon but no Prime available, so you have to pay for shipping. They also have Ghosting removal. When you letter your vehicle the sun can fade the paint and when the decals are removed you are likely to see ghosting where the decals were. Spray on and rinse off - done!

Crystaltek vinyl remover. http://www.crystaltek.us.com/ Safe for you and the environment. Non flammable so it can ship by air and overseas.
