Fooling with the air ratchet, listening to the compressor and wrestling with the hose is getting really old.
I want a driver but I would like to know what you guys are using.
This weekend I did buy a Craftsman 1/2" cordless driver for $89.95 on sale from $140. It's very close to the electric impact gun I use to remove lug nuts, big and heavy. I wanted a 3/8 drive but I couldn't find one that wasn't a drill/driver combo. (3/8" so I can use 8,10,12mm sockets without an adaptor).
Should I get an impact driver or regular driver? NiCd or Lithium Ion battery? I noticed the voltage is higher in many NiCd batteries and a bit lower in the Lithiums. Keep in mind that I'm not a mechanic working everyday with one of these so I can't justify the expense of a Snap On or Matco tool.

I like Milwaukee Power tools for around the House use.
Real close to Snap On Quality.

There is Makita & Dewalt too.

Lithium battery packs are usually superior.
Where the Batteries are made exactly dictates overall Cordless tool quality.
Not much made in The USA As you know.
Most China.

Look for made in Korea. No kidding.
Way better than Chuna.

Nicad battery packs I use with my Snap On 1/2 " inch impact cordless.
Lithium battery pack known to quit within 1 year with my impact gun.
4 years old now. Made me $$$& $ in sidejobs Many.
No complaints.
Just Awesome power & reliabilty.
Expensive Yes.

Buy an Impact Cordless tool.
Have mechanical and car repairs in mind.

I bought this one on Saturday.

I thought it's big and heavy. I saw 2 car shows on TV and both used small looking Dewalt guns. They look like smaller heads. The counterpart to the Craftsman I bought is the Dewalt but it's 20v to my 19.2. I guess it's a constant competition to keep upping the voltage?
I have a shit load of Milwaukee cordless tools I bought in 2002. It was a large bag kit that contained a mini circular saw that I reall liked, drill, reciprocating saw, flashlight and saber saw. I used them for one summer. The batteries wouldn't hold a charge or wouldn't charge at all. The charger was bad, 2 bad batteries so I gave up - now sitting on a shelve in the basement gathering dust with all the other cordless tools that batteries didn't hold a charge or wouldn't charge at all. My trouble was the tools would sit too long draining the batteries to zero and then the time would come the batteries wouldn't charge. I have othe brands too - same thing. I hate to throw them out , they all look new.

I believe my Milwaukee Cordless Drill & 1/4 " inch combo set I bought 2 years ago use Nickle Metal Hydride Battery packs. No issues Richard.
Other Milwaukee power tools I have and use are 120VAC Wall plug in tools.

I'll have to re - check that stuff out. I don't want to hord stuff but I hate to throw out good things. I'm well known for giving things away rather than dumping.

A package Came In Richard.
Thanks !
Post Pictures this evening.
