just curious, anyone installed a dana 60?

back in the muscle car days of the late 1965-1975 or so we used to destroy the O.E.M. rear differentials fairly frequently, because there were very few heavy duty parts available for the rear differentials other than axles and occasionally ring/pinions , most of us priced out the components that were available for the 10 bolt and 12 bolt G.M. rear differentials and quickly found that a DANA 60 rear from a salvage yard (even with the cost of a new custom drive-shaft) was both a great deal less expensive and stronger that the built 10 or 12 bolt rears, so back in the day that was a common upgrade.
yes Ill freely admit a dana 60 rear cost a great deal less then,
but so did nearly everything else, and if your good at looking thru salvage yards , some of the older pick-up trucks still have dana 60 rear differentials that you can buy reasonably available

theres a big difference in parts size and strength between a 9" ford and DANA 60
