Hey,GRUMPYVETTE?
I noticed all my dash lights flickering on my way home tonight, and I also noticed that my fogs and headlights were flickering slightly as well... whats the possible problems?

I am thinking:

bad ground
voltage regulator
alternator brushes
loose connection somewhere?
dirty or loose batt terminals

a multi meter

could be used to quickly isolate the cause of the flickering, but the first placed ID inspect is both battery terminals and the main ground on the rear of the drivers side cylinder head, then read thru these and sub links

ya grumpy, turns out its the ground terminal on the battery. after you tighten it so much, it just loosens again, I have to tighten it to a sweet spot, i think the threads in the batt are messed up, and even with it tight, the cable still has some play to it, so it wiggling around is causing all of this.

get a bottoming tap in 3/8" 16 tpi thread

measure the depth of the threads in the battery and install a longer bolt, (use BRASS REPLACEMENT BOLTS OR CLAMPS) are preferred because they tend to coroad less and they usually have a greater thread contact area than the current battery terminal bolt has (most stock bolt threads are only about 1/2" deep and the battery threads are a bit deeper)

IT ALSO HELPS IF THE BOLT THREADS HAVE A COAT OF ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE GREASE
