looking for exhaust improvements

Ill move the thread to the exhaust system area
Im looking for exhaust pipes for my 496 Camaro. I use modified cast iron manifolds so they exit currently at a FULL 2.5".
Any recommendations? Is there any value to running anything larger than 2.5 from the manifold back? Plan on dual with X member and thinking of Cutouts for track days.
I want it clean although I'm not intending to spend a grand on stainless.
I see PYPES makes a 2.5 and 3" collector back for about 430.00 with mufflers, hangers and clamps.
Your thoughts?

theres zero question that 3" dual exhaust with and (X) pipe will be beneficial

Pulse tuning is what really shines in building a proper exhaust. There is more to it then most know or want to deal with. But if you want better then average results you need to take these considerations. But yes you will see an increase by just improving flow. I have an H-pipe on my car and will be swapping out for an x-pipe. I believe that they improve scavenging over a H-pipe. Even though either one will improve flow some times a X pipe is not able to be properly fit under a car where I would use a H pipe.

I have read several dyno test results on nascar tests where adding an (X) pipe to the exhaust was easily worth several extra horsepower and several extra ft lbs of torque over most of the effective rpm range, its easily enough that over several laps it makes a clear difference in where the car will place in the field.
