looking into rear gear ratio change

I'm thinking about making a rear gear change but would like some opinions from people with experience. My 71 c10 has a 3.08 rear gear currently and a very mild 454. I am considering changing to 3.73. from my calculations it will increase the rpms at 65 mph 400 rpm.

It doesn't seem like too much but would a fairly small gear change like that make a noticeable difference in acceleration. I would go for a 4.10 ratio but I don't have an overdrive transmission and I do want to start driving this thing once in a while.

as with most automotive choices youll make choices by doing some accurate research and some of the related math
as it will go a long way towards getting the correct answers so you can make reasonably logical choices.
obviously knowing your transmission gear ratios, converter stall speed and tire diameter will help.
