anyone own a particular brand and model of plazma cutter and want to point out the good and bad points, explain why they bought that particular tool, explain the cost of consumables and how fast and clean or slow and ugly it cuts?
I know from talking to friends that you tend to get what you pay for in a plazma cutter and many of the lower cost units are of very questionable quality!
youll really need to do some research into longer term customer satisfaction, here that, like with welders, will become very important, so that your smart to look into durability, issues, manufacturers warranty, ease of obtaining the consumables , and the cost of consumables that are related to the tools use before any tool is purchased

I have the Eastwood 60 Plasma cutter. The first one I sent back because whenever I started a cut it wood throw a circuit breaker. Even when properly adjusted it couldn't stay on to make a 3" linear cut in 1/4 mild steel. Second one they sent same thing, only this one would let me get to nearly 7" of cut. I even used my well grounded generator that was more than plenty amperage. Their customer service and tech support couldn't explain, but since I was past the days allowed (by 4 days) for a full credit they sent me another new setup. To this day I never opened it.
I may add that unless it's absolutely essential, I will not buy anything from Eastwood. They say you can write to the president of the company but his assistant won't let me get a letter or message to him. I have more than my fair share of faulty products that they make (not just relabel someone else's products) and I'm not adding to the shit list.
Every time there was a good sale I stocked up on those BOGO buys. Half the sprays (30) don't work and it's a major pita to inject air into the can to get them to spray. I guess you can blame me for not needing to open a package as soon as it comes. If I don't need it right way and I open my welding smock a day late and find that the Extra large I ordered was a small instead, that's my tuff crap according to Eastwood. I can go on for other products but I'm sure the next 3 posts will be how great Eastwood is to them, lucky for you guys!

thanks for posting that info, its sure to help others!
I personally have never had any issues with their products, but a few friends have!
but I'd also point out I've generally not bought much from them, except welding solder and a few body sheet metal tools.
I know a couple people with their welders that seem to be happy but I also know that many guys don,t have the experience to know when a product is performing well, or how to properly adjust many tools.

Their customer service failed when they sent me a new cutter without testing it and repeated again never informing me of the problem. I guess the answer is obvious because a month later they changed the look of the machine. Btw, their 40 amp dual power machines were a failure lasting only a year on the market. You couldn't cut any mild steel above 3/16" before breaker flipped. Someday I'll have to open the box of the last one and test if it works. If I ever bought another cutter I want the air supply integrated into just one machine, I hate fooling around with a separate compressor.

yes a good many people I talk to have ZERO clue that many plazma cutter's REQUIRE a air compressor connection and DRY AIR so if your compressor pumps out moist air,
your almost sure to have issues using that plazma cutter

I got to play with one of the miller 625 plazma cutters at a buddys shop,
it certainly does a decent job , he was modifying a T-BUCKET frame ,
and it sure made the job a good deal faster than a die grinder and abrasive disc,
but to be fair the metal was about 3/16"-1/4" thick box steel, so it cut very easily,
and no! it was all set up and I have no idea how difficult it was to do,
as he had it ready to use when I got there... but its IMPRESSIVE

The most common complaint among cheaper plasma cutters is that they tend to trip the electrical breakers.
