It's been a long time since I looked into patents and trying to protect anything. Maybe I should do some investigating into getting a patent for the braces? I'll make them by hand for now and hopefully demand will increase enough so I can have the pieces made by a shop with faster high tech equipment like laser or water jet cutters. Selling the rights would be better for me than paying for legal services to try and defend a patent.

We could start a BMX Thread Birdman.
Have to dig out old photos and scan them so I can share with Ya.

Wow thats really impressive.
Wondering how did you get the mold and die, homemade? that leave me speechless.

I'll post a how to on the molds and dies after I sell enough to at least get paid for the time I've spent. Making one set for a personal car is different than needing to make a small production run. Folks here would probably be more interested in making one part for their own car for the sense of accomplishment and because they have more time than money.

Started painting some of both styles of the inner fender extensions today. I'm spraying 2 coats on them with black PPG Omni epoxy primer using a HF 1.4 tip gun. The epoxy primer can be top coated with whatever matches their engine compartment on one side and their wheel well on the other side. Being an epoxy primer it'll have good rust protection and the black semi flat epoxy has the look of factory if they just want to leave as shipped..

Pics were taken while waiting for paint to flash between coats so they're a bit glossier looking in the pics than when dry.

When I was building cars at the machine shop there was a guy using a bay for doing a lot of aluminum fab work on imports. He was constantly doing turbo and intercooler work and aluminum head porting. Did very nice work, excellent welder. Had him weld a bunch of stuff for cars I built. I can use the hot metal glue machines (MIG) but he can weld circles around me and does really nice TIG work. Here's a couple of the cars he was working on I happened to take pics of.
