Many Guys Fail To Take Full Advantage Of The Options Available

one of the guys in the local area has a 1999 corvette that hes currently installing some seriously upgraded brakes on, he asked if I could stop by and give him a hand with the upgrade.
As I watched him remove the OEM brakes I asked him if he was willing to sell the parts he was not going to re-use as they appeared to be in decent condition, he said one of the other guys I know locally had already spoken up and offered him $100 for the old calipers and rotors, and brake pads, and he had accepted the offer.
well, I missed out but I'm glad the components did not go in the local landfill, or trash as happens all too often, with upgrades.
at least the OEM C5 brake components will find a second chance to enhance someone else's corvette.
If you're a member of a car club you might find you have access to used parts someone else has little use for that may sell you parts very cheaply.

you can potentially make what really is a noticeable improvement on some OEM C4 brakes with components from the late C5 corvette and a few adapter components,
yes the parts are used, the first time you depress the brakes the components are USED!
that does not in any way indicate they may not be a serious upgrade over your current parts.
I see guys all the time that spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars more than they might have if they did a bit of "wheeling & dealing" on some lightly used parts.
I know that in the past I've found blocks, heads, intakes transmissions and an almost endless list of "used" parts at bargain prices of pennies on the dollar on guys garage shelves, some times if you express interest you might be amazed at the asking price.
I.ve had guys sell me old cylinder heads for less than 15% of what the local salvage yard quoted me, and a perfectly good short block for a 396 BBC a guy removed from a 68 Chevelle when he upgraded to a 454 BBC, for less than the bare used 396 blocks listed for.
