Moving c4 with trans out

Taking trans out to over haul it [4+3] but can't tie up lift need to move car out of bay until trans is done, with flywheel and clutch off will it hurt anything to let the engine hang on a c4.dis cap also removed.I have done this on outher cars without any problems.
Thanks Dan :?:

dont know for a c4 but n my camaro we put some 2x4 between the heads and dash/cowl to support the engine so we could roll the car in/out.

Thanks for the reply, don't think it will work on the vette,I am sure I will come up with something thanks again.

as long as the distributors been removed first the engine should cause no problem sitting in the motor mounts without the transmission and c-beam attached, now it sure wont hurt to use a 12" x12" sheet of 3/4" plywood on a floor jack to support the oil pan while the cars just sitting on the floor to remove pressure on the motor mounts but Ive done it a couple dozen times on my 1985 corvette (removed the distributor then the transmission and let the engine just sit in the motor mounts) until I lowered it off the lift.
But Id also point out that Ive usually used a floor jack under the engines oil pan and a transmission jack while I worked on a mechanics creeper, while the corvettes been up on (4) 12 ton floor jacks, set at about 2 notches higher than the lowest position, as I find thats far easier to do than use the lift for transmission removal and install work, being able to use the mechanics creeper, and trans jack under the corvettes always been easier

Thanks Grumpy I did plan on putting a jack under the pan when it was setting, just wasn't sure the mounts would hold it off everything on a c4.Thanks again,Happy New Year.
